Orange Hosts 4th of July Concert and Fireworks Celebration

The City of Orange is thrilled to host the 2021 4th of July Concert and Fireworks Celebration. This event will be open to the public at 5 P.M. on Sunday, July 4, at the Riverside Pavilion, located at 502 E. Destroyer Drive off Simmons Drive and near the City of Orange Boat Ramp.

The celebration will begin with concessions and activities at 5 P.M. followed with live entertainment by Wayne Toups & ZydeCajun from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M. A spectacular fireworks display will begin immediately following the concert at 9 P.M. Concessions and kids activities will be available on site.

This event is free to the public, and please note, no dogs or pets will be allowed at the Riverside Pavilion. Coolers are welcome and chairs are encouraged.

80th Annual Lions Club Carnival Opens This Week

The Orange Lions Club Charity Carnival is back for a new season!  Opening weekend is June 16-19, as well as June 23-26 and June 30-July 3. Wednesday and Thursday hours are 6:30 PM-10 PM.

Friday and Saturday hours are 6:30 PM-11 PM, and Kiddie Day is the first 1st Saturday, June 19, 2021, and the gates open at 4 PM. The carnival is held at Lions Den City Park at 1802 Main St. in Orange.

Adult entry fee is $3, youth 13-17 $2, and children 12 and under are free. Tokens are $1 each.

New to this year’s carnival is a Kiddie Scrambler for the young ones and a rock climbing wall for those wanting a bit more adventure. The carnival features a variety of rides, game booths, and food booths. Food options range from hamburgers, funnel cakes, chocolate-covered strawberries, popcorn, and cotton candy to turkey legs, pork-a-bobs, corn dogs, nachos, and popcorn balls.

More than 10,000 people visit the carnival each year. Proceeds of the carnival are used by the Lions Club to fund club causes like the Eyeglass Bank, youth scholarships for Lions Club Camp, food baskets, beautification tree project, and the Texas Ramp Project.

CCR Graphics Announces Back-to-School Sponsorship

CCR Graphics, located at 2331 MacArthur Dr. West in Orange their Back to School Sponsorship. They will provide two children with everything the children need to go back to school, including school supplies and clothing. One girl and one boy will be chosen.

Stark Cultural Venues Coloring Book Now Available

Drop by the Stark Museum of Art today to be one of the first people to visit our special exhibition and pick up your free copy of their coloring book.

The exhibition features original contour line drawings created by SMA Teaching Artist Karen Leonard that highlight the unique locations and collections at the Stark Museum of Art, The W.H. Stark House, Stark Park, Lutcher Theater, and Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center. The exhibition includes 18″x 24″ prints of the thirteen original drawings Karen Leonard created for the publication.

In addition to viewing the drawings, visitors can learn about Karen’s process of using traditional and digital media to create the artwork, as well as view a time-lapse video of her creating one of the drawings from beginning to end.

Open Wednesday-Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Free admission.

Orange Chamber Hosts Tim Schossow Memorial Golf Tournament

The Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 1st Annual Tim Schossow Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, August 30, 2021, at the Sunset Grove Golf Course at 2900 West Sunset Dr. in Orange. Net proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Chamber’s Non-Profit of the Year Award recipient, CASA of the Sabine Neches Region.
