Tony Award-Winning Musical, An American in Paris, Comes to Lutcher Theater

Romance! Adventure! Gershwin! Who could ask for anything more? Filled with the music of legendary composers George and Ira Gershwin, the Tony Award-winning masterpiece, An American in Paris, is dancing its way to the Lutcher Theater in Orange, TX, Sunday, March 8, 2020, at 3 pm.

Tickets for An American in Paris are on sale now and start at $55. Tickets can be purchased online at Lutcher.org, by phone at 409-886-5535 or by visiting the Lutcher Theater Box Office at 707 Main Ave in Orange, TX.

Inspired by the Academy Award-winning film, An American in Paris transports the audience to post-war Paris, where romance is in the air and youthful optimism reigns. In this poignant production, Gershwin’s soaring melodies are matched by gravity-defying dance as the world rediscovers the power of love. Hoping to start a new life, World War II veteran Jerry Mulligan chooses newly-liberated Paris to try and make his mark as a painter. Jerry’s life becomes complicated when he meets the mysterious Lise, a young Parisian ballet dancer with a haunting secret who, like Jerry, is yearning for a new beginning.

The winner of four Tony Awards, this exquisite production features classic Gershwin songs including “I Got Rhythm,” “Liza,” “‘S Wonderful,” “But Not for Me,” and “Stairway to Paradise.” The New York Times proclaimed “Pure Joy…An American In Paris is a TRIUMPH!”

The Lutcher Theater presents Farewell Angelina in their highly acclaimed Women & Wine Tour, Saturday, January 25, 2020, at 7:30 pm. Tickets start at $30 and are available now at www.lutcher.org.
Named among Rolling Stone’s “New Artists You Need To Know” and Roughstockʼs “Ones To Watch” with a tour schedule to prove it, Farewell Angelina has opened shows for the likes of Kenny Chesney, Old Dominion, Jake Owen, Billy Currington and Maroon 5. After hearing the undeniable magic of their voices together, the band couldn’t wait to take their show on the road. “This project was fully funded by our fans! We co-produced, something that truly captured our musical sisterhood while working alongside the best musicians and engineers in the business. Thankful and excited to bring this music on the Women & Wine Tour.”
Farewell Angelina’s chemistry lives in watching each other shine, and most of all, creating moments every night with the Country Music fans they love so much. The relationship they share with their fans won them the fan-voted “Hot Seat” spot of the Taste of Country 2017 “RISERS” Program by over 20,000 votes. “Wickedly smart songwriting delivered with a healthy dash deft playing…into one sonic knockout punch,”  says Rolling Stone.
About Farewell Angelina
Named after a haunting Bob Dylan song, Farewell Angelina, the female country group impresses with four powerhouse vocalists, dynamic songwriters, and accomplished multi-instrumentalists. A band of longtime friends, Nicole Witt, Andrea Young, Lisa Torres, and Ashley Gearing all met pursuing their dreams in Nashville, TN. Each deeply respected and admired one another while they were building successful solo careers, touring and recording with top artists, and writing songs for some of Country Music’s biggest hitmakers. Their stellar blend of heart-stopping harmonies over blazing double guitars has earned soaring praise across the board. Roughstock praised them as a “Superstar Act… with Killer Songs;” Rolling Stone “Wickedly smart songwriting delivered with a healthy dash deft playing… into one sonic knockout punch.”
