The State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry (STEAR) is a free program that assists local First Responders and Emergency Management with obtaining information on the needs of the community during an emergency event. The program provides detailed information on citizens who may have disabilities and require additional medical or transportation assistance during an evacuation or natural disaster. The state of Texas offers Texans the option to register with the STEAR program to provide information related to their needs. This information is used to assist Emergency Management with preparedness and response activities.
To register, call 2-1-1 or go to stear.tdem.texas.gov. Even if you’ve registered before, you must enroll every year to make sure your information stays current. For more information, visit the City of Orange Emergency Management webpage.
