City of Orange

The City of Orange will celebrate Christmas on Tuesday, December 24, and Wednesday, December 25, 2024. To honor the holiday, city offices will be closed on both days, allowing employees to spend time with family and friends. During this time, the City of Orange Police and Fire Departments will remain on duty, ensuring the community’s safety.

Residents are reminded that Waste Management will NOT provide garbage pick-up on Christmas Day, December 25. Residential waste collection during the week following the holiday will be delayed by one day. For further details, contact Waste Management directly at 800-800-5804.

Waste Management Holiday Collection Schedule

Waste Management would like to inform all customers of adjustments to the collection schedule during the holiday season. In observance of Christmas and New Year’s Day, there will be no collection services on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, or Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

All residential collection services scheduled during the week following these holidays will be delayed by one day. The updated schedule is as follows:

  • Wednesday service will be collected on Thursday.
  • Thursday service will be collected on Friday.
  • Friday service will be collected on Saturday.

City of Bridge City

The City of Bridge City has released its Christmas and New Year’s holiday schedule to ensure all residents are informed of service adjustments during this festive season.

City Hall Schedule:
City Hall offices will close at noon on Friday, December 20, 2024, and will remain closed through Wednesday, December 25, 2024, reopening on Thursday, December 26, 2024.

Garbage Service Schedule:

  • There will be no garbage pick-up on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 (Christmas Day) or Wednesday, January 1, 2025 (New Year’s Day).
  • For these weeks, garbage collection will be delayed by one day.

Emergency Services:
For water-related emergencies, residents can contact the Police Department at (409) 735-5028, where a technician will be available 24 hours a day.

Orange City Council Approves Firefighter Bargaining Agreement, Awaits Union Review

In a unanimous decision on December 10, 2024, the Orange City Council approved a proposed bargaining agreement for the city’s firefighters, marking a significant milestone after months of intense negotiations.
