Orange Lions Club Carnival Rescheduled

Orange Lions Club Carnival Rescheduled

With every carnival the Orange Lions Club operates, it is their intention to provide you with the safest experience possible. For that reason they are adjusting the dates of this year’s carnival to allow time for any necessary repairs to rides to be made and for the State Inspector to complete his review of each ride.

The carnival will now run 10/16-10/19 and 10/23-10/26. Kiddie day will be on the 19th and begin at 4 pm. The carnival opens at 6:30 on every other day.

The Orange Lions Club thanks you for your continued support and they look forward to providing you with the best carnival experience possible.

Orange County Special Angels Plans Fish Fry Fundraiser on September 19

Tickets are now available for the Orange County Special Angels Fish Fry. The event is at the Orange County Convention and Expo Center and begins at 6:30 PM. Tickets are just $75 per couple or $40 for an individual and are available from committee members, at Farmer’s Mercantile, or by email at info@specialangelsrodeo.org.

Menu options include fried catfish or grilled chicken, twice-baked potatoes, green beans, hushpuppies, rolls, and all the trimmings. During the event will be a live and silent auction, door prizes, and live entertainment. The food is being prepared and served by Robert’s Steak House.

All proceeds will fund the Orange County Special Angels Rodeo. The Orange County Special Angels Rodeo is a 501(c)(3) organization that hosts an adaptive sports event, for people with all forms of disability who under most circumstances would not be able to participate in rodeo events. It is open to anyone ages 1 to 101 and there will be no entry fees for any of our participants. Each participant will leave with a gold medal and other souvenirs from their day as a real cowboy or cowgirl. All events, carnival games, etc. can be modified to meet each participant’s need. The event is open to participants throughout East and Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana.

Orange Riverfront Car and Bike Show Scheduled for September 14

The Orange Convention and Visitors Bureau is excited to announce the Orange Riverfront Car and Bike Show. This event will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019, from 9 A.M. to 2 P.M. at the Riverfront Boardwalk and Pavilion, located at 601 W. Division Avenue.

“The City of Orange is excited to bring something new for citizens and visitors to take part in. The car and bike show will provide loads of fun for all ages. We encourage families to come and spend the day with us and enjoy this FREE event,” says Brandy Judice, Convention and Visitors Bureau Coordinator.

The Orange Riverfront Car and Bike Show will include a number of classic cars, motorcycles, children’s activities, and complimentary lunch including hotdogs and beverages. The awards ceremony will begin at 1:30 P.M. where the top 25 classic car entries and top 5 motorcycle entries will receive a trophy, in addition to the Mayor’s Award, Fire Chief’s Award, and Police Chief’s Award. Please note, no dogs, no pets, no bicycles, and no skateboards will be allowed at the Riverfront Boardwalk and Pavilion.

Registration for the car show will be held on-site the morning of the event beginning at 8 A.M. There will be no pre-registration available for this event.
