40 Under 40 Nominations Open

The Southeast Texas Young Professionals Organization, Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce and Beaumont Enterprise will honor the best and brightest young professionals under the age of 40 for their academic achievements, professional success and community involvement with the 40 Under 40 recognition.

Young professionals are a vital asset to our region. It is very important to recognize and acknowledge those who are making great strides in shaping our community’s future. The emphasis is on leadership, whether it’s in law, real estate, non-profits, education, healthcare, arts, or other industries. Let’s not forget about our entrepreneurs! Focus is also placed on the nominee’s community involvement.

Think of your friends, family, colleagues, clients — anyone who matches the criteria — and nominate as many as you like. Nomination forms must be submitted by someone other than the nominee.

To be eligible, the nominees work must be based out of Jefferson, Orange, or Hardin County. Also, recipients must be 39 years old or younger. All applicants must have at least one reference in addition to the individual nominating the candidate. Application deadline is August 7, 2020.

Orange Lions Club Cancels 2020 Carnival

Orange Lions Club Carnival Rescheduled

On June 22, 2020, the Lions Club released the following statement on their Facebook Page:

The Orange Lions Club has been closely monitoring COVID-19 and assessing how it would affect our carnival for this year. Our intention has been to run the carnival if it would be safe for members, volunteers, and the public. As the carnival takes us months to plan, we must make a decision now.

In the interest of public safety and to reduce the risk of exposing all carnival-goers to the virus, we will be canceling this year’s carnival. We will continue to assess when it will be safe to schedule our next carnival.

We hope you understand how difficult this decision was, but we will always err on the side of safety when it comes to the well being of our friends and neighbors.
