The brand-new Chik-fil-A restaurant opened its doors for business today, offering drive-thru service and curbside service only.

Chik-fil-A wants to ensure that their opening today goes as smoothly as possible, so they ask patrons to be sure to read all signs posted.

To access the drive-thru only: From Highway87/16th St. please drive to the  Frontage Rd., then make a right onto the new 15th St. and enter the drive-thru.

For curbside pickup, please enter from 16th St. only. You will be directed by cones to veer right to enter a curbside pickup spot.

CARES Act and SBA Provide Assistance for Small Business

Small Business Owners are eligible to apply for Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) due to COVID-19 through the U.S. Small Business Administration. Business owners should make every attempt to apply online here. Businesses may be eligible to receive up to $2 million with no payments for 12 months at a 3.75% interest rate for small businesses and 2.75% for private nonprofits. Terms may be extended for up to 30 years. Small businesses, small ag cooperatives, and private non-profits are eligible. Funds may be used for fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable and other bills affected by the disaster.

The CARES Act provides additional assistance for small business owners, including the opportunity to receive up to a $10,000 grant advance on an EIDL. The SBA is updating its system to implement this provision so small businesses can request an EIDL Advance when they apply for the loan. This update will be available in the coming days. In the interim applicants can still apply for a full EIDL but will need to reapply for the Advance when the system is updated with a streamlined application. Once the EIDL Advance is active, funds will be direct deposited into the applicant’s business account.

To find out more about the EIDL program, businesses are encouraged to join one of the four daily calls with the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Houston District Office or contact the Orange County Economic Development Corporation. In addition to the EIDL, the CARES Act allocated $350 billion to help small businesses keep workers employed amid the pandemic and economic downturn. Known as the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), the initiative provides 100% federally guaranteed loans to small businesses. Importantly, these loans may be forgiven if borrowers maintain their payrolls during the crisis or restore their payrolls afterward. The PPP funds are administered through third party lenders. Chik-fil-A to Open Drive-Thru Only on April 9
Mr. Eric Sienko, Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Orange, spoke at the Orange City Council Meeting held Tuesday, March 24.
Sienko thanked the City of Orange for the amazing support and assistance during the construction phase leading to the opening scheduled for Thursday, April 9. “At this time, the plan is for drive-thru only and mobile app ordering in an effort to observe measures associated with COVID-19. Protecting the public and Chick-fil-A team members is a top priority at this time. There will be 80 – 90 new jobs at the new Chick-fil-A and we are excited about being a part of the City of Orange and Orange County,” said Sienko.

Circle K Kiddie Ranch is Still Open for Business

We erroneously reported in our post about COVID-19 closures that Circle K Kiddie Ranch was closed until April 3. They are, in fact, still open and operating. This was a mistake on our part, and for that, we sincerely apologize to the owner Carol Daigle and Director Jana Daigle and the Circle K Kiddie Ranch parents for any additional stress we caused you.

Here is their current status:

We appreciate our families being so patient and kind while making the documentation and notes required by the health department.

We understand that school districts are making some really hard decisions during this time. LCM will now be closed until April 3, 2020. After school parents please be aware that if your child is here all day your rates will go up. IF CCCS does not pay the difference you will be responsible for making that payment. Our cut off time to enter the facility is 9 AM.

We too are on a HUGE learning curve as is most other childcare facilities. Please be patient and understand so that we can help you keep your babies safe. Wash your hands, use hand sanitizer, and love your babies.
