“Stories of Steuben” Lunch & Look @ Home Program Offered at Stark Museum

Join the Stark Museum of Art and Curator Sarah E. Boehme for a look into the Museum’s superlative collection of Steuben Glass. Explore the stories of Steuben on November 30, 2033, from noon – 1 PM.

The illustrated Zoom slide-talk will look at the company’s history, the artists who created the imagery, and the national narratives told in glass. The talk will view works from the Museum’s “United States in Crystal” and “Steuben Glass: Stories Engraved in Crystal.” Advanced registration is required for this FREE program. Registration will close on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 9:00 a.m.

This Lunch & Look @ Home program will be facilitated live through Zoom from the Stark Museum of Art in Orange, Texas. Participants are encouraged to download Zoom prior to the event.

Experience a Stark Family Christmas in December

Experience the magic of A Stark Family Christmas this holiday season at The W.H. Stark House at 610 Main Avenue in Orange.

Step back in time and discover the rich traditions and timeless elegance that defined the Stark family’s Christmas celebrations. Their FREE holiday house tours provide a rare glimpse into the beautifully decorated home that once belonged to this prominent family. The 45-minute guided tours allow viewing all three floors of The W.H. Stark House.

“Explore the rich history of the Stark family and their lavishly decorated home while learning about the family’s traditions and the significance of the holiday season to them,” said Rayanna Hoeft, director of The W.H. Stark House. “This is a great opportunity to create cherished memories with family and friends during a magical tour that combines history, tradition, and the joy of the season!”

To help spread joy and goodwill to our community, we invite guests to bring canned food donations to support the Salvation Army of Orange.

The holiday house tours will occur on December 1, 8, 9, 15 and 16, 2023. during select time slots between 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Advance reservations are required, as tours often fill up quickly. To make reservations online, please click here.

Fall Floral Design Class Offered by Stark Museum of Art

Create a floral centerpiece using fresh flowers and botanicals inspired by fall. Guest floral artist, Scott Hasty, will demonstrate and guide participants through the design process of creating a floral arrangement. Participants will take home their floral centerpiece and the confidence to prepare, design, and care for floral arrangements.

This workshop will be held at Stark Museum of Art Walter G. Riedel III Education Center, 712 Green Avenue on November 9, 2023, from 6-8:30 pm. Please use the 6th Street entrance. (Parking is available in the parking lot across the street from the Education Center, located at the corner of 6th and Elm.)

Mean Girls Broadway Tour Takes Center Stage at Lutcher

The highly anticipated “Mean Girls” Broadway Tour is set to take center stage at the Lutcher Theater on November 4 with two performances at 2 and 7:30 p.m. This spectacular hit musical promises to deliver an unforgettable evening of laughter, drama, and remarkable performances.

“Mean Girls,” based on the iconic 2004 film, has taken the world by storm with its sharp wit, memorable characters, and unforgettable catchphrases. Now, the touring production is making its way to the Lutcher Theater, giving Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana a chance to experience the magic of Broadway right here in our own backyard,” said Lynae Sanford, executive director of the Lutcher Theater.

Audiences can look forward to the captivating story of Cady Heron, who must navigate the treacherous world of high school cliques, all while discovering the true meaning of friendship. The “Mean Girls” Broadway Tour boasts a fabulous ensemble of performers, dazzling choreography, and a sensational soundtrack that will have theatergoers tapping their feet and singing along. This production has been celebrated for its wit, humor, and ability to address the universal themes of identity and acceptance.

To extend the excitement, patrons are invited to make it a day of “Mean Girls” and visit the Stark Museum of Art for Date Night at the Museum from 5-7 p.m. Experience the museum after hours with complimentary spirits and charcuterie bites from Free State Cellars.

“Don’t miss your chance to witness the Plastics in action as they take over the Lutcher Theater. Whether you’re a fan of the film or new to the “Mean Girls” phenomenon, this Broadway Tour promises to be an entertaining night out for everyone,” said Sanford. “We also invite you to extend your time in Orange, and your “Mean Girls” outfit, for Date Night at the Museum!”
