The Annual Bark in the Park program, sponsored by the West Orange Animal Shelter and hosted by Debbie, an animal shelter volunteer, is scheduled for Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the shelter at West Orange Park, 2700 Western Avenue.
The event’s goal is to showcase the dogs available for adoption and get as many of them adopted as possible to prevent the dogs labeled Code Red from being euthanized. Code Red dogs can be put down at any time once the shelters become full. Proceeds benefit the Vet Fund. They will also be taking donations to help local shelters and rescues.
Participants are allowed to bring their pets to meet the dogs and see if they get along. Event organizers will be taking donations of dog foods, treats, toys, and bedding for several local shelters and rescues.
A variety of vendors and food trucks will be available at the event.
