in Local Roundup

The Vidor Public Library is thrilled to announce its 2025 Summer Reading Program, themed “Color Our World,” beginning Tuesday, May 27, 2025, and open to children ages 1 to 16. The program, held at the Vidor High School Auditorium, is free to participate in and aims to encourage young readers to explore the joy of reading throughout the summer.

To be eligible for exciting grand prizes, children must read 20 books from the Vidor Public Library collection. For every 10 books read beyond the initial 20, up to a total of 100, participants will earn additional chances to win. Books must be checked out from the library and read at home, as in-library reading will not count. Completed reading logs are due by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025.

Program Guidelines Include:

  • Books must be from the Vidor Public Library.

  • All books must be checked out and taken home to count.

  • One must read and log 20 books before signing up.

  • Parents/guardians must accompany children during all sessions—no drop-offs allowed.

Weekly Programs at the Vidor High School Auditorium will run from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., featuring exciting guest presentations:
