Vidor Independent School District (Vidor ISD) is proud to announce the award of a $254,777 Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) Grant, which will be used to significantly upgrade the district’s welding shops with advanced, industry-standard equipment. This transformative investment will further enhance Vidor ISD’s Career and Technology Education (CTE) programs and expand opportunities for students pursuing high-demand technical careers.
The announcement was made during the Regional JET Grant Award Presentation, where Penny Singleton, Vidor ISD’s Career and Technology Director, proudly spoke on behalf of the district. Mrs. Singleton authored the successful grant application during the past school year, securing essential resources to strengthen Vidor’s workforce readiness initiatives.
The upgraded welding facilities will provide students with hands-on training in a professional-grade environment, aligning educational outcomes with current workforce needs and ensuring that Vidor ISD graduates remain competitive in the job market.
Vidor ISD extends its gratitude to the Texas Workforce Commission and the JET Grant program for investing in the future of Southeast Texas students.
