The Vidor Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on February 14, 2023, for Gubers, a family-owned restaurant delivery service.
Gubers was started by Jesse Valdez in February 2016 in North Carolina. He came to Texas on vacation in August 2016. Jesse was immediately attracted to the community and the surrounding areas and saw the need for a delivery service. He sold his business in North Carolina and moved to Texas, officially opening Gubers in August 2016. By January 2017, he had expanded to Orange County.
In July 2019, Haley Parker became partners in Gubers and began learning the day-to-day operations. After three years in SETX, Jesse decided to return to North Carolina and sold the business to Haley. In October of 2019, they took full ownership of Gubers and brought in her stepmom, Becky Parker as Manager/Owner. Haley and Becky continue to work diligently to provide outstanding service to both new and existing customers and take Gubers to the next level.
Gubers has partnered with over 200 restaurants in Southeast Texas to which they deliver in a 20-mile radius, all outlined on their website. Their delivery and convenience fees are completely transparent, starting at a $5 flat fee for any restaurant within 5 miles of the delivery location.
Their hours of operation are as follows:
- Open 7 days a week from 10:30 am – 8:30 pm
- Open til 9:00 pm Fridays & Saturdays
- Breakfast hours are Monday – Friday from 8:30 am – 10:30 am and Saturday & Sunday from 8:30 am – 10:30 am
