TxDOT Releases 2025 Hurricane Evacuation Routes

With the 2025 hurricane season officially underway, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has released updated hurricane evacuation routes for the Beaumont District and surrounding areas. As the season runs through November 30, officials are urging Southeast Texas residents to review their evacuation plans now and be ready before a storm threatens the region.

These designated routes are specifically designed to maximize safety and efficiency for motorists during hurricane-related evacuations. TxDOT is reminding all drivers that early preparation and calm cooperation are essential during emergency situations.

“During an evacuation, we ask motorists to be courteous to other drivers, obey all traffic laws, and plan ahead as much as possible,” TxDOT stated in an official release.

Key Recommendations for Motorists:

  • Know your evacuation route in advance
  • Be courteous and allow others room on the road
  • Follow all traffic laws and signage
  • Check real-time road conditions at www.drivetexas.org

Because road conditions can change rapidly during and after a storm, TxDOT encourages residents to stay informed by using their website and regional communication channels for traffic updates, closures, and weather alerts.

“As weather systems become more unpredictable, knowing your route and having a plan in place is your best defense,” said TxDOT officials.
