Texas Sales Tax Holiday Scheduled August 9-11, 2019

in Local Roundup

The Texas Sales Tax Holiday is scheduled for August 9-11, 2019. During this annual sales tax holiday event, most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks (sold for less than $100) can be purchased sales-tax-free from a Texas store or from an online or catalog seller doing business in Texas.

This year’s sales tax holiday begins Friday, Aug. 9, and goes through midnight Sunday, Aug. 11.

The sales tax exemption applies only to qualifying items purchased during the sales tax holiday. Items purchased before or after the sales tax holiday do not qualify for an exemption, and there is no tax refund available.

Texas’ sales tax holiday weekend has been an annual event since 1999.
