The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is pleased to announce that the 2025 Master Gardener Training Classes will begin on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Orange County Expo Center, located at 11475-A FM 1442. This comprehensive training program provides an opportunity for community members to deepen their knowledge of horticulture while serving their community.
The program consists of 50 hours of classroom education paired with 50 hours of volunteer service. Classes will be held every Thursday evening through December 3, 2025, featuring expert speakers and interactive programs covering a wide range of gardening topics. Participants will also enjoy planned field trips and hands-on learning opportunities.
Graduates can fulfill their volunteer hours by assisting at the Master Gardener greenhouse, participating in the annual plant sale, and supporting various AgriLife community programs throughout the year.
The cost of the program is $150, which includes a comprehensive gardening book, class supplies, speaker fees, and a celebratory banquet on the final day of class. Please note there is an additional online fee for a required background check, which must be completed prior to the start of training. The background check is valid for three years.
Applications are available now at the AgriLife office at the Orange County Expo Center. Payment for the course can be made at the time of application or any time prior to the start of class.
