Rainy Days Ahead
Forecasters expect up to 8 to 10 inches of rain for Southeast Texas over the course of the next few days.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Lake Charles has increased the rainfall forecast today through Thursday. Four to six inches of rain, locally as high as 10 inches, is expected in Southeast Texas.
According to the NWS, Hardin, Jefferson, and Orange counties have a slight chance for flash flooding on Tuesday. Excessive rain could cause the flash flood risk to go up to moderate by Thursday for Jefferson, Hardin and Tyler counties as the storm turns north.
In addition, tides are running between 1-2 feet above normal. During high tides, minor coastal flooding could occur today through Thursday.
The NWS advises people to be mindful of potentially flooded streets.
