Stark Museum to Host After School Art Program

in Arts

The Stark Museum of Art will be hosting an Afterschool Art program on Thursdays from October 5-26, 2023. Build your drawing techniques by learning how to draw what you see. Students in 5th-8th grades will learn how to create realistic pencil drawings successfully during this four-week class. Students will refine drawing skills by practicing hand-eye coordination, creating 3-D forms using pencil shading, and learning how the use of shadows will add realism and depth to their drawings. The skills learned can be applied to techniques across other types of media. Students will complete an 11″x14″ still life study.

This four-week class will meet from 4:30-5:30 p.m. and will focus on specific skill building. Students may be assigned some brief at-home assignments during the class that will reinforce the instruction given in the studio. Class size is limited to a maximum of 10 students. Registration is $40 per student, and all materials are provided and yours to keep at the conclusion of the workshop.
