The Stark Museum of Art has published its 2021-2022 Virtual Field Trips & Student Art Exhibitions Catalog! They are excited to announce the return of our Virtual Field Trip offerings for Pre-K-12th grade students, along with their Student Art Exhibitions for K-12th grade students.

Virtual Field Trips offer students the opportunity to visit the Museum from the comfort and safety of their classroom. Most Virtual Field Trips include a Studio Art Kit with supplies for a hands-on studio art project for your classroom. Thanks to the generous funding of the Nelda C. and H.J. Lutcher Stark Foundation, Studio Art Kits are FREE for public, private, and homeschools in Region 5, Texas, and Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana.

New this year, is a Mural @ Home program for classrooms. This program allows teachers to download and print a scalable mural for their classroom or campus in a variety of sizes up to 13.5′ x 7′. This new approach to their mural program allows more students and schools access to this beloved program and also provides students the opportunity to work collaboratively while maintaining social distance in the classroom.

The curriculum, designed by SMA’s education staff, consists of lessons for Pre-K-12th grade students that are aligned with state benchmarks in Fine Arts, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science. All of their programs are designed to cultivate 21st Century Learning Skills: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. They strive to offer students unique experiences that provide real-world opportunities to engage and connect with the visual arts and build upon their classroom experience.

All teachers in Region 5, TX and Calcasieu Parish, LA may register for Onsite Field Trips starting at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022.
