Learn about the beautiful Spode pottery in the collection of The W. H. Stark House and then glaze your own design on a bisque pottery item. Staff from the Stark Museum of Art and The W.H. Stark House will teach the basics of how to paint a plate or mug of your own at the CREATE! Workshop: Glazing Pottery at The W.H. Stark House on Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
CREATE! Workshops are multi-generational and designed for artists 8 years old to adults. Your pottery piece will be fired, food-safe, and available for pickup within 3 weeks. All supplies are provided with a $10 material fee when you register for your seat. Advanced registration is required. This workshop will take place at The W.H. Stark House.
CREATE! Workshops are recommended for ages 8 and up and are designed to be multi-generational, but please note that younger children may require additional assistance from their accompanying grown-up. We encourage family collaboration during these workshops. Children ages 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult registered for the workshop.
Registrants will briefly discuss a selected collection item and then will appreciate art in a new way when they make their own art in the studio. Some CREATE! Workshop artwork must be fired in the kiln. Artwork will be available approximately three weeks after the class. Please check with your teaching artists to confirm your pick-up dates.
