Southeast Texas Veterans 4 Veterans is proud to announce the Southeast Texas Stand Down 2025, a special event benefitting homeless veterans, veterans at risk of homelessness, their families, and the local homeless community. The event will take place on Friday, May 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Orange County Convention & Expo Center, 11475 FM 1442, Orange, TX 77630.
Inspired by the military term “Stand Down”—a time when combat units step back to rest and regroup—this event serves as a safe and supportive space for those in need to access free services, resources, and support networks they may not otherwise know exist.
SERVICES INCLUDE:
- Clothing, hygiene kits, and duffle bags (veterans only)
- Shelter and housing assistance
- Medical, mental health, and substance abuse screenings
- Vaccinations and HIV/AIDS information
- Legal services and benefits counseling
- VA claims and DD214 assistance
- SNAP (food stamps) info and survival benefits
- Resources for persons with disabilities and women veterans
- Free haircuts and more
Participants will also receive a free lunch and be entered to win door prizes during the event.
A valid form of ID is required for services (TX driver’s license, military ID, DD214, or Veterans ID). Military surplus is reserved for veterans with proof of service.
The Southeast Texas Stand Downs are completely FREE and open to the public. This is more than an event—it’s a lifeline for many in our community.
