Nearly two dozen volunteers gave up their Friday to make sure Orange County children would enjoy better nights of sleep.
A group of volunteers from Chevron Phillips Chemical Orange Plant and Golden Triangle Polymers delivered and assembled beds for 54 children in Orange who did not have a bed to sleep in. This effort, which included 20 volunteers, was coordinated through the Sleep in Heavenly Peace—Beaumont chapter.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a nonprofit that serves Orange, Jefferson, and Hardin counties. Through grants and donations and the work of volunteers, Sleep in Heavenly Peace delivers handmade beds, complete with bedding, to children up to 17 years old.
