Christmas Strolls at Shangri La Gardens will delight the residents of Southeast Texas and the region with colorful holiday displays throughout Shangri La Gardens from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. the evenings of December 8- 11; December 15-18; and December 21-22, 2021.
Shangri La Botanical Gardens is seeking to make its annual Christmas Strolls & Community Food Drive the most memorable experience possible, They are seeking individuals and businesses to decorate a tree, which will help contribute to the festive holiday tradition at Shangri La Gardens, support those in greatest need through the efforts of Orange Christian Services, and continue growing this annual event that brings the community together.
Shangri La Gardens will furnish a live Christmas tree and multiple strands of white LED lights. It will be up to participants to decorate the tree focusing on an “environmentally friendly” theme. In the spirit of showcasing this environmental approach, organizers are encouraging participants to stretch those creative muscles and decorate their trees using recycled, reused, and/or reclaimed products. However, this isn’t a requirement.
Participation is free. To participate in the 2021 Decorate-a-Tree event, register no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, to ensure official acknowledgment and approval of your entry. One entry per person or group. There is no entry fee. Registration is limited to 45 participants. Once registration is full, those interested in participating may call 409-670-9113 to be added to the waitlist.
Trees will be available for decoration from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the following dates: Thursday/Friday/Saturday, December 2-4, 2021; and/or Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday, December 6-8, 2021. Please note that Christmas tree sites are assigned by lottery. When participants arrive at Shangri La Gardens to decorate, they should proceed to the check-in desk and receive a randomly-assigned site number.
Participants agree to display and maintain their Christmas tree displays through Wednesday, December 22, 2021.
