Orange Lions Club Unveils New Mural

in Local Roundup

The Orange Lions Club has spearheaded a mural project funded by HOT Tax funds for Orange County. This particular funding was under promotion of the arts that directly promote tourism and the hotel and convention industry.

The mural can be seen at the Paula Stout Insurance Agency at 1401 Green Avenue in Orange.

Local artist Maurice Abelson, who is the graphic design instructor at Lamar-Port Arthur, painted the mural on several panels that were put together on the brick wall by Jaden Dillon and The Sign Doctor.

Stout said she was approached by the Orange Lions Club about putting a mural on the large white wall of her building at the corner of 13th and Green near Reliable Cleaners and thought it was a great idea.  After giving Abelson several ideas, he put together the finished product. The tents represent the Lions Carnival and bass for local fishing tournaments. The Ford Mustangs represent area car shows as well as Stout’s love of Ford vehicles.
