On December 21, 2023, Orange County Disaster Rebuild (OCDR) handed over the keys to Steve Norwood to his brand-new home.
Norwood’s home was impacted by the 2016 floods, Hurricane Harvey in 2017, Hurricane Laura in 2020, Hurricane Delta in 2020, and the Texas winter storm in 2021. The home was being condemned by the City of Orange, and he was going to be homeless.
With the collaboration of Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas and OCDR, OCDR was able to demo his old home and build a new one for him.
Thanks to Nehemiah’s Vision, he was also provided a refrigerator full of groceries and much-needed kitchen supplies.
