The culinary scene in Orange County just got a whole lot tastier as the newly minted Orange County Truck Yard rolled open its doors on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, marking the county’s inaugural food truck park.
After an arduous nine-month journey filled with dedication and determination, this exciting gastronomic venture has finally seen the light of day, courtesy of its visionary owner, Marcy Taylor.
Taylor believes the timing couldn’t be more impeccable for such an establishment, attributing part of the inspiration to the Chevron Phillips expansion project sweeping through the region. “The idea came from with the new Chevron Phillips coming in,” Taylor explained. “Everyone is coming in and putting in RV parks. There definitely is a food shortage resource in our area. So I decided to do a food truck park.”
Her vision was clear – to introduce a diverse range of culinary delights to the influx of newcomers in Orange County, offering them an array of delectable options to savor.
A total of seven food truck partners are prepared to tantalize taste buds with the diverse flavors that define Southeast Texas’ culinary landscape.
As if that isn’t exciting enough, there are even more developments on the horizon, with plans to expand the truck park into Phase Two by January. Taylor disclosed, “We are going to have a lawn area, fire pits, and yard games. Become dog-friendly and eventually put in a small dog park.”
The Orange County Truck Yard stands conveniently near the Orange County airport and the Golden Triangle Polymers plant, beckoning all food enthusiasts and locals to its doors at 4158 Hwy 87 S. It’s more than just a place to eat; it’s a culinary oasis, poised to leave an indelible mark on the Orange County dining scene.
