Mayor Larry Spears Jr. has proclaimed January 31, 2023, as Orange Amateur Radio Club Day.
The Orange Amateur Radio Club (OARC) celebrates its 75th anniversary of affiliation with the American Radio Relay League, which started on January 27, 1948. The OARC provides emergency and auxiliary communications for the American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Department of Homeland Security, National Weather Service, CERT, Orange County Office of Emergency Management, and other emergency agencies.
