More than a week after a railcar leaked highly toxic chemicals at the Orange County Eagle Railcar facility, the company has yet to cooperate with the law firm that filed a restraining order to preserve evidence and allow for an onsite inspection.
The leak, which prompted a shelter-in-place order for several communities and sent dozens to local hospitals, was not reported to authorities as required by law. Once exposed, the company misrepresented the extent and scope of the problem, according to whistleblowers within the organization.
The Law Office of Brent Coon and Associates (BCA) requested access to the facility for seven days before filing an enforcement action against Eagle Railcar on Friday. BCA, which has handled hundreds of similar incidents in the industrial sector for nearly 40 years, reports that no company has ever resisted inspections as Eagle Railcar has in this case.
“The community has a right to know what happened and we are determined to get to the bottom of it,” said Brent Coon, whose law firm is leading the matter and represents hundreds of victims.

The law firm will be holding a series of Town Hall Meetings at various local establishments to help residents get the answers and help they need. In addition to getting news updates from the legal teams initiating the investigations, there will also be medical professionals who can help victims get the treatment they need.
