INVISTA Donates to West Orange-Cove CISD Project Lead the Way

in Local Roundup

INVISTA Orange representatives visited the West Orange-Stark HS Career Center on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. They toured the STEM lab and generously donated $5000 to the Project Lead the Way (PTLW)-Engineering program at WOS High School.

From launching space explorations to delivering safe, clean water to communities, engineers find solutions to pressing problems and turn their ideas into reality. PLTW Engineering empowers students to step into the role of an engineer, adopt a problem-solving mindset, and make the leap from dreamers to doers. The program’s courses engage students in compelling, real-world challenges that help them become better collaborators and thinkers. Students take from the courses in-demand knowledge and skills they will use in high school and for the rest of their lives, on any career path they take.

With more than 20 locations in operation around the world, INVISTA, which is a subsidiary of privately owned Koch Industries, Inc., opened its Orange, Texas location in the 1940s and was built during the nylon manufacturing boom. The complex covers approximately 70 acres and is located within the DuPont Sabine River Works facility.
