WOCCISD Teachers Receive a Raise
The West Orange-Cove CISD Board of Trustees has approved a $3,000 minimum pay increase for teachers. The 2019-2020 teacher pay scale increases starting teacher salaries from $43,000 to $46,000. Individual step increases also reflect a minimum $3,000 increase, with some steps receiving a $3,500 increase. Read more on WOCCISD.net.
Orange Rec Center Now Offers Pickleball and Indoor Soccer

The City of Orange Recreation Center has updated the schedule to include Indoor Pickleball and Indoor Soccer. Indoor Pickleball will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Indoor Soccer will be offered on Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Please see their Facebook page for more info.

Texas Workforce Commission Grants Over $400,000 in Job Training Funds

The Texas Workforce Commission presented checks to seven local schools on September 14, 2023, including Lamar State College Orange. Lamar State College Orange President Dr. Thomas Johnson spoke about the programs these grants totaling $434,591 helped to fund.
