The Vidor Chamber of Commerce held a grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 27, 2025, to officially welcome Grit N Grind Coffee Shop, a completely mobile coffee business specializing in business deliveries and events, to the Southeast Texas community.
Founded by husband-and-wife team Rhonda and Billy Hennessey, Grit N Grind has been serving up faith and flavor across the region since March 2023. The Hennesseys, who moved from Idaho to Southeast Texas three and a half years ago, saw a need for quality coffee and embraced the opportunity to launch a Christian-based coffee shop on wheels.
“I was shocked at the lack of coffee spots here,” said Rhonda, who brings over 30 years of retail management experience to the business. Partnering with Billy, whose background spans scratch baking and auto sales, the pair built Grit N Grind from the ground up. “Going mobile was our way to share our concept—and our faith—fast,” Rhonda added.
Grit N Grind’s menu offers something for everyone, from hot and iced espresso drinks to refreshing Italian sodas and iced tea for non-coffee drinkers. With no fixed location, the Hennesseys specialize in bringing their coffee creations directly to businesses and events. The full menu is below.
“Joining the Vidor Chamber of Commerce was a game-changer,” Rhonda noted. “It’s helped us connect with local businesses and spread the word about what we offer.”
With a brick-and-mortar location as a future goal, the couple remains focused on their mission of serving the community with great coffee and God’s love. Billy’s expertise in baking hints at future menu expansions, but for now, the focus is all about delivering top-quality drinks with a message of hope and faith.
