Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce Celebrates Success at Annual Banquet

The Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its Annual Banquet on January 7, 2025, at the Orange County Expo Center, drawing a packed crowd for an evening of awards, recognition, and celebration.

Outgoing Chairman Jessica Hill ceremoniously passed the gavel to Stacey Brister, Superintendent of LCMCISD, who will lead the Chamber in 2025 under the theme “Making Orange Stronger Together.” In her remarks, Brister emphasized the power of optimism and networking in driving growth and opportunities for both businesses and individuals in Orange.

Brister also introduced her new Executive Board:

  • Megan Layne

The evening was highlighted by the announcement of several prestigious awards:

  • Citizen of the Year: Tad McKee, President of the Stark Foundation, was honored for his impactful leadership and service on numerous boards and civic groups. McKee attributed much of the success to his dedicated team at the Foundation.
  • Business Community Service Award: Tina and Jessie Romero, owners of Mathews Jewelers Orange, were recognized for their contributions to the local business community.
  • Non-Profit Community Service Award: Be Blessed Orange Texas, led by Rita Ballard, earned accolades for its inspiring work since its ribbon-cutting in June 2024.
  • Ambassador of the Year: Ashla Taylor
  • Next Generation Spotlight: Colton Baker
  • Board Chairperson of the Year: Megan Layne

Additionally, Derek McWilliams was announced as the new Ambassador Chair for 2025.
