DuGood Credit Union is building a new branch office at Eagle Point in Orange.
Eagle Point is located at the intersection of Interstate 10 and State Highway 62. The area includes the Gisela Houseman Medical Complex, a 55,000-square-foot hospital operated by Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. The hospital is located on 20 acres of the Eagle Point development.
Eagle Point has also been designated a reinvestment zone for commercial and industrial tax abatement. A building permit was issued for a Candlewood Suites Hotel in the Eagle Point development, which will offer extended-stay kitchen suites.
DuGood Credit Union was originally chartered by a group of plant workers under DuPont Beaumont Works Employee Federal Credit Union. The credit union experienced steady growth throughout the years by offering the latest products and services, expanding membership, and through merger acquisitions.
In 2005, the credit union merged with Goodrich Community Credit Union and changed its name to DuPont Goodrich Federal Credit Union. After the merger, “DuGood” was used for their web URL as a shortened version of the name, and immediately members began calling themselves “DuGood members.”
As they continued their work in the community, they became known as “DuGood Credit Union.” The name was a natural fit because doing good and giving back were—and still are—at the heart of everything they do.
In 2014, the board officially changed its name to DuGood Federal Credit Union.
The anticipated opening is Spring/Summer 2025.
