Discount Tire, one of the nation’s largest independent tire and wheel retailers, has officially broken ground on a new facility at 6703 Interstate 10 in Orange, Texas. The new store will be conveniently located between Candlewood Suites and the recently opened DuGood Federal Credit Union, bringing additional business growth and accessibility to the area.
According to Kelvin Knauf, Director of Planning and Community Development/Housing Office, the arrival of Discount Tire represents a continued expansion of commercial services along the I-10 corridor.
Founded in 1960 by Bruce T. Halle in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Discount Tire began with just six tires in inventory. Through a commitment to community connections and exceptional customer service, Halle expanded the business into a national powerhouse. Today, Discount Tire is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, and operates over 1,100 stores across 37 states.
The new Orange location will provide a full range of tire and wheel services, including:

This will be Discount Tire’s first store in Orange, adding to its existing network of three locations in Beaumont, Port Arthur and Lake Charles.
The new Discount Tire store will enhance convenience for local residents and travelers along the busy I-10 corridor. It also adds to the area’s economic development following the recent opening of the DuGood Federal Credit Union nearby.
