City of Orange Announces Promotion and New Hires

in Government

The City of Orange would like to congratulate Sarah Hunter on her promotion to Accounting Manager for the Finance Department.

Sarah has an associate’s degree in general business from Lamar State College Orange and a certification in Ethical Leadership from the NASBA Center of Public Trust. In May, she will graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in managerial accounting and analytics from Lamar University.

Sarah has been with the City since 2020, starting out in Customer Service and then transferring to the Finance Department as an Accounting Clerk. In July 2022, she took on the role of Interim Accounting Manager and has now been promoted to Accounting Manager.

They would also like to introduce Divon Williams, the newly appointed Deputy Director of Planning and Community Development.

Divon is a West Orange-Stark High School graduate, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Behavioral Studies from Lamar University. She will receive her Master of Science degree in Community Development from Prairie View A&M University in May of this year.

“Orange is home. I care about the potential and the quality of life in our community. All reasons why I am grateful and eager to be a part of the growth and new opportunities happening in the City of Orange.”

Lastly, they would like to introduce Madison Floyd as the newly appointed Deputy Public Works Director.

Madison graduated from Lamar University in May 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Prior to working for the City of Orange, she worked for five years as an Engineering Assistant at TXDOT.
