Christus Hospital-Orange Opens February 1, Bringing Vital Care Closer to Orange Community

In a highly anticipated moment, Christus Hospital-Orange will welcome the public through its doors on February 1, 2024. Kevin Parsley, the Chief Operating Officer of Christus Southeast Texas Health System, shared that city officials and local residents had longed for accessible emergency care and healthcare options closer to home ever since the closure of the area’s sole hospital more than five years ago.

The hospital, located at 6901 Medical Center Drive in Orange, adjacent to Interstate 10, is part of the 20-acre Gisela Houseman Medical Campus. Christus Hospital-Orange boasts a state-of-the-art facility offering emergency services, an extended stay unit, comprehensive diagnostic imaging and lab services, and a dedicated women’s center.

The hospital’s top floor, dedicated to medical offices, has been operational since November. Several tenants are in the process of opening their offices, contributing to the burgeoning healthcare hub. Christus Hospital-Orange serves as the anchor facility in the newly constructed 55,000-square-foot building, with more than 80 associates and contract staff ready to provide care.

Parsley expressed gratitude towards the hospital’s associates and generous donors, who played pivotal roles in making this medical facility a reality. Gisela Houseman and the Houseman Foundation were lauded for their substantial donation of the land upon which the hospital now stands. Numerous community leaders also played crucial roles in bringing this project to fruition. like key figures such as Gisela Housman, Orange County, the City of Orange, and many others who worked tirelessly to make this much-needed medical facility a reality.
