On select evenings in December at Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center, stroll through thousands of Christmas lights, holiday flowering displays, and festive decorations throughout the magically transformed gardens. The festive holiday atmosphere also features dozens of unique Christmas trees decorated by talented members of the community. During Strolls hours, Orange Lions Club will have cookies and hot chocolate available for purchase.
Admission is FREE, Please consider donating non-perishable food items for Orange Christian Services. They will collect non-perishable food items December 1-21 during normal garden hours and Christmas Strolls. During Family Holiday PJ Week (Dec. 5-9), they will also be collecting new pajamas and blankets in support of the Lutcher Theater’s PJ & Blanket Drive, benefitting Salvation Army- Orange.

Senior, Mobility Friendly & Sensory Sensitivity Hours are Tuesday nights – 5-6 PM. This hour is designed with quiet music and smaller crowds for guests with mobility challenges, sensory sensitivities, and their families.
Dreaming of a Green Christmas is December 16 from 10:00 AM-3 PM. Dreaming of a Green Christmas is a family-friendly event to celebrate the holiday season. The day begins at 10:00 a.m. with a visit from Santa Claus. Stop by for a photo before he gets busy organizing elves, checking the list, and making Christmas toys!
In addition to our special guest, the day will feature multiple holiday hands-on activities, including ornament-making using natural materials. Enjoy fun for all ages at this festive event!
Visitors may also stroll through Shangri La Gardens during this event to enjoy seasonal decorations, flowers, and unique, community-decorated Christmas trees. There will be multiple holiday themed photo-ops available for family photos. The Here We Grow! Children’s Garden will be transformed into a charming “Candyland” with bright, colorful decorations.
