Vidor ISD Community Education is offering a variety of children’s summer camps. Residence in Vidor is not required.

The camps include soccer, basketball, cartooning, arts and crafts, animals, cooking, science, old-fashioned games, and robotics and coding.

Camps are only $40 each unless there is a t-shirt or supplies required.

To register, visit them 120 E Bolivar in Vidor, or pay through My School Bucks. If you pay through My School Bucks, you must send or bring to the Community Education office a copy of your receipt with the registration form.

Bridge City ISD will transition to in-person learning for all students for the 2021-2022 school year.

Remote instruction will no longer remain an option.

As the district makes this transition, mitigation practices and nonpharmaceutical interventions will remain in place for the continued health and safety of all employees & students.

BCISD appreciates the continued support from our BCISD families and looks forward to seeing all students return to the nest for the upcoming school year.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School has set 2021 Graduation for Tuesday, May 25, 2021, beginning at 8:00 PM in Battlin’ Bear Stadium. Top graduates this year are Bella Rogers and Seonghak Kim.

Valedictorian Bella Rogers is the daughter of Mark and Carolyn Rogers. Her involvement in school organizations includes 3 years in Quiz Bowl, one year in Book Club, and two years in the National Honor Society. Her UIL athletic and academic teams include Tennis – two years, Literary Criticism – 3 years, and Current Events – 1 year. Bella’s college plans include studying Anthropology at the University of Houston.

Salutatorian Seonghak Kim is the son of Younghyun Kim and Sungjai Jeong. Seonghak’s involvement in school organizations includes two years of band, two years on the UIL Academic Team, two years in National Honor Society, two years of Interact Club, three years of Key Club, and one year each in Student Council, Grizzly Crew, and Quiz Bowl Team. The UIL Academic teams on which Seonghak has competed are Number Sense, Calculator, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Cross-Examination Debate. Kim has been on the All-A Honor Roll for his entire high school career. In 2018 he was named an Outstanding Musician in band, a Star Student, and earned a seat in the All-Region Band in both 2019 and 2020. He earned an AP Scholar Award in 2020 and this year placed Fourth in the Texas Math and Science Coaches Association (TMSCA) High School State Meet. This summer Seonghak intends to apply to colleges in Korea where he will major in Business.

Two LCM seniors, John Paul Sulak and Spencer Layman, have received the Q.B. Culpepper and Ben Culpepper Leadership Awards from the Kiwanis Club of Orange. The awards, which are given to Key Club students, carry a $1,000.00 scholarship. John Paul will attend Texas A&M University and Spencer has committed to Baylor University in the fall.

Q.B. Culpepper was the founder of the Orange Kiwanis Club and a Superintendent of Mauriceville schools from 1931-1940. Ben Culpepper was his son and long-time member of the Kiwanis Club of Orange. The awards are based, in part, on the student’s service to the community through Key Club and other organizations in which the student is active. Academics and need are also considerations.

The scholarship program is one project of the Kiwanis Club, whose emphasis is serving the children of this community. The club also sponsors the annual Christmas Parade in downtown Orange, as well as other programs that benefit children.

West Orange-Cove CISD is excited to announce its first annual Summer Stampede Kids Camp for all students entering grades 1-6. Summer Stampede provides a fun learning atmosphere where students enjoy activities that minimize the learning gap created during the COVID-19 school closures.

The Summer Stampede will be four weeks of fun-filled educational experiences for mustangs entering grades 1-6. The 2021 Summer Stampede is comprised of two camps, each lasting two instructional weeks. The first camp focuses on Math and Science, while the second camp focuses on Reading and Language Arts. Each camp is designed to allow students to explore their learning style through hands-on activities and field trips.

The dates and times of each camp are noted in the flyer below.

The registration fee is $10 per camp. They will provide breakfast and lunch, transportation, field trips, and a camp t-shirt.
