Fill the Fire Truck Campaign Deemed Resounding Success

The City of Orange Fire Department hosted the 5th annual “Fill the Fire Truck Campaign” at Central Fire Station. The toys received have been donated to the Salvation Army to distribute to families in need within the Orange community.

The Orange Fire Department would like to thank all those who helped make the Fill the Fire Truck Campaign a success by donating more than 130 toys to help support those families in need within our community.

Vidor City Hall Announces Holiday Schedule

Input From Vidor Residents Needed for Grant

Vidor City Hall will be closed on December 24, 25, and January 1, 2021. If you need to make a payment, please use the available online methods or the drop box located near the back door of city hall.

The sanitation trucks will run on Christmas Eve, but will NOT run on Christmas Day. If your regular pickup day is Friday, your cans will be picked up on Saturday, December 26th. The sanitation trucks will also be running on New Years Day, Friday, January 1. Please have your containers out by 6 am.

The roll-off dumpsters at 355 Watts Street will be closed on December 24 and 25 but will reopen on December 26 from 7 am until 3 pm. Closed 12-12:30 for lunch.  The facility will resume normal business hours the following week.

City Offices to Close for Thanksgiving

City of Orange Applying for Additional Harvey Disaster Relief Funds
The City of Orange will be celebrating Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 26, and Friday, November 27, 2020. City offices will be closed both days to allow employees to spend time with their family and friends. As always, the City of Orange Police and Fire departments will be on duty keeping us safe.
Waste Management will NOT have pick up on Thursday, November 26. The Thursday and Friday routes are asked to please place trash carts out the morning of Friday, November 27. Regular service will resume on Monday.

FEMA Proposes New Flood Risk Maps

FEMA has proposed new flood risk maps, dated March 31, 2020, that could affect some citizens in the City of Orange. The 90-day appeal period began October 21, 2020, through January 19, 2021.

The Neighborhood Facility at 303 N. 8th Street in Orange has flood risk maps available for citizens to view until January 19th, 2021, Mondays – Fridays except for holidays 8 AM-5 PM with extended hours on Monday evenings; November 16th, November 30th, December 14th, December 28th, and January 11th, 5:00 PM-6:30 PM.

Comment forms are available at the Planning Department. The completed form will be forwarded to FEMA.

 

Cove School Building To Be Demolished

Cove School Building To Be Demolished

The City of Orange would like to announce that the demolition of the Cove School building is expected to begin next week. The fencing of the property and cleanup of the exterior of the property has already begun. The building demolition and property cleanup are expected to be completed shortly before Christmas.

The City of Orange purchased the property earlier this year.
