63rd Annual Toy Coffee Planned for December 5

Please help bring a smile to a young child’s face this Christmas by donating a toy and participating in the 63rd Annual Toy Coffee presented by The Service League of Orange on December 5, 2019,  from 10 am – 2 PM at 1866 Linwood Dr. in Orange.  A guided tour and an array of goodies and treats will be served.

Please bring a new, unwrapped toy or cash donation to be given to the Salvation Army. All proceeds will be delivered to children in the local community.

Kiwanis Club Christmas Parade Scheduled for Friday, December 6

The Kiwanis Club of Orange will present the 71st Annual Orange Christmas Parade on Friday, Dec. 6, 2019, at 6 p.m.

This year’s theme will be “A Disney Christmas.” Parade entries will be accepted through Tuesday, Dec. 3. Entry forms are available on the Kiwanis Club of Orange Facebook page and below this post. They are also available at Mann Insurance Agency, 1505 Park Avenue, Orange and from the Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce, 1012 Green Ave., Orange.

The parade entry fee is $20. All fees offset the cost of the parade. Advance registration is required for every entry. On-site registration is not accepted.

Parade staging will begin at 1 p.m. Line-up will begin at the corner of Front and 8th Streets. The parade will end, also, at Front and 8th Streets.

Lifting Spirits Powerlifting Charity Meet Scheduled for December

Mr. Mike Denmon is hosting “LIFTING SPIRITS” Charity Powerlifting Meet on Saturday, December 14, 2019.

At this meet, The Cross Trainers are teaming up with Blue Santa and The Beaumont Rainbow Room by accepting unwrapped toys to give to those children in need for the holidays. Also, The Beaumont Rainbow Room is in need of new clothing & new shoes and personal hygiene products or anything you can think of for a toddler to a teenager who has had to leave their home unexpectedly by Child Protective Services.

Anyone interested in setting up a booth, being a sponsor, or in donating eats or sweets, can contact Denmon. Any and all donations and help are welcome

All donations will go to Blue Santa and Rainbow House and all proceeds from entry fees (to compete) not needed to cover the expense of the meet will also be donated to those organizations.

Spectator admission is free, and event t-shirts will be for sale at the charity meet.

ELIGIBILITY: Lifters must be an APF registered athlete by the time of the meet. To register for a new membership or renew your existing membership, visit www.worldpowerliftingcongress.com.

WEIGH-IN:
Friday, Dec. 13, 2019:  2019: 9 am-1 pm and 4 pm-7 pm
Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019: 7 am – 8 am

MANDATORY RULES BRIEFING:
Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, at 8:00 a.m.
Lifting starts at 9:15 a.m.

UNIFORM: One-piece lifting suit or wrestling suit is mandatory.

CONTEST LIFTS: Full Meet (Squat/Bench/Deadlift), Bench Only and Deadlift Only

ENTRY FEE: Meet entry fee is $100 if received on or prior to Nov. 30, 2019. If received after Nov.30, 2019, there’s an additional $25 late fee. Additional divisions are $25 each. Imelda Thanksgiving Recovery Event will be happening this Friday, November 22, 2019, at the Orange County Convention and Expo Center beginning at 10 am until noon or until supplies run out.

This is for ORANGE COUNTY RESIDENTS ONLY. You MUST bring your ID for proof of residence.
