Family Fun, and Food Fest Planned for March 21

Out of precaution, the City of Orange Convention and Visitors Bureau has canceled the Family Fun & Food Fest scheduled to take place at the Riverfront Boardwalk and Pavilion on Saturday, March 21.

The City of Orange is saddened to make this decision; however, the health and well-being of our community, citizens, and visitors is of utmost importance. Although there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Orange County, the City of Orange is taking precautionary measures to reduce unnecessary risks.

The City of Orange Convention and Visitors Bureau encourages event attendees to stay up-to-date with event information online on their website or through their Facebook page.

Spring is just around the corner and there is no better way to celebrate than with a Family Fun & Food Fest!

Join the Orange Convention & Visitors Bureau at the Riverfront Boardwalk and Pavilion on Saturday, March 21, from 11 A.M. to 9 P.M. and enjoy a day filled with family-friendly fun!

There will be no charge to attend the Family Fun & Food Fest in downtown Orange.

Enjoy activities sure to entertain those of all ages such as a petting zoo, bounce houses, and much more! Attendees are invited to grab great bites to eat from a number of food trucks available on site. End your fun-filled day with a movie on the lawn featuring Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory on a large inflatable screen beginning at approximately 7:30 P.M.

Please note, no dogs, no pets, and no coolers will be allowed at the Riverfront Boardwalk and Pavilion. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket for viewing of the film.

Fiddler on the Roof is the heartwarming story of fathers and daughters, husbands and wives, and life, love, and laughter.  This classic musical is rich with Broadway hits, including “To Life (L’Chaim!),” “If I Were A Rich Man,” “Sunrise Sunset,” “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” and “Tradition.”

The original Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof, which opened in 1964, was the first musical in history to surpass 3,000 performances. The show won the 1965 Tony Award® for Best Musical in addition to eight other Tony Awards® that year. This acclaimed revival proudly introduces a new generation to the iconic musical adored across the globe.

A beloved theatrical classic from Tony Award®-winner Joseph Stein and Pulitzer Prize- winners Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick, Fiddler on the Roof is directed by Tony Award-winner Bartlett Sher (South Pacific, The King and I); choreographed by the acclaimed Israeli choreographer Hofesh Shechter; inspired by the original choreography of Jerome Robbins, and has musical direction by Ted Sperling.

Fiddler on the Roof has scenic design by Michael Yeargan (Tony Award-nominee, The King and I), costume design by Catherine Zuber (Tony Award-winner, The King and I), lighting design by Donald Holder (Tony Award-nominee, The King and I), sound design by Scott Lehrer (Tony Award-winner, South Pacific), and hair and wig design by Tom Watson.

LCM Legacy 5K Color Run & Walk Planned for May 2
Little Cypress-Mauriceville Education Foundation is hosting a fun-filled family day full of color on Saturday, May 2, 2020, from 8 AM – 11 AM at Little Cypress Jr. High School.  The “Legacy Color Run/Walk” 5k is a fun, family event intended to raise money to support grants provided by the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Education Foundation, Inc. These grants are offered to educators for innovative projects and enrichment activities, equipment or materials which are not provided for in the regular school budget. Since 2002, the LCM Education Foundation has provided over $250,000 to enhance the educational experience of students throughout the LCM District.
Sponsorships are still being sought. Sponsors may apply for sponsorship here.
