Orange Lions Club Cancels 2020 Carnival

in Business/Events
Orange Lions Club Carnival Rescheduled

On June 22, 2020, the Lions Club released the following statement on their Facebook Page:

The Orange Lions Club has been closely monitoring COVID-19 and assessing how it would affect our carnival for this year. Our intention has been to run the carnival if it would be safe for members, volunteers, and the public. As the carnival takes us months to plan, we must make a decision now.

In the interest of public safety and to reduce the risk of exposing all carnival-goers to the virus, we will be canceling this year’s carnival. We will continue to assess when it will be safe to schedule our next carnival.

We hope you understand how difficult this decision was, but we will always err on the side of safety when it comes to the well being of our friends and neighbors.

Orange Community Players Hosting Unity Fest 2020

NOTE: THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED.

UPDATE: From Cody Smith Vasquez: “It is with a heavy heart that OCP makes the decision to postpone Unity Fest 2020. This decision is made due to the continuing increase in COVID-19 cases in our area and new government mandates. We strongly feel that a celebration of diversity is needed and will proceed when it is safe to be enjoyed by all. With much love, keep doing the most good. I will let you know when we can reschedule.”

The Orange Community Players will host an evening of community music, fun, prayer, and enlightenment on Saturday, June 27, 2020, from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.at 3330 Bowling Lane in Orange. You may remain in your vehicle for this outdoor event and/or bring lawn chairs.

In an effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19 and for the safety of yourself and others, please maintain social distancing and follow standard health protocols.

Unity Fest 2020 is a time for us to celebrate diversity in our community. Hear from local community leaders. listen to local talent, and dance with a DJ. The goal of this event is to create a day where people can have fun and make new friends while also learning something deeper about each other’s identity and how we can embrace our diverse culture as a community
