USDA Holding Farmers to Families Food Giveaway June 6

The USDA will be hosting a Farmers to Families Food Box Giveaway beginning at 2 P.M. each Saturday from July 18 – August 15. This Food Box Giveaway will be held at Orange Church of God, located at 1911 N. 16th Street. Food hoxes will contain pinto beans, potatoes, onions, carrots, oranges, apples, and a gallon of milk.

Peggy's on the Bayou Hosting Fundraiser for Toys for Tots

Peggy and Richard Albair, owners of Peggy’s on the Bayou in Orange are hosting a fundraiser the Toys for Tots U.S. Marine Corp Southeast Texas program.  They are asking for help and support to sell tickets to raise money for children in Southeast Texas for the holidays. They are selling raffle tickets at 3 for $10 to raffle off a $250, $500, and $1000 gift card. The drawing will be held on November 14.

Last year they raised over $7000.00 and hope to meet or exceed the goal this year.

40 Under 40 Nominations Open

The Southeast Texas Young Professionals Organization, Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce and Beaumont Enterprise will honor the best and brightest young professionals under the age of 40 for their academic achievements, professional success and community involvement with the 40 Under 40 recognition.

Young professionals are a vital asset to our region. It is very important to recognize and acknowledge those who are making great strides in shaping our community’s future. The emphasis is on leadership, whether it’s in law, real estate, non-profits, education, healthcare, arts, or other industries. Let’s not forget about our entrepreneurs! Focus is also placed on the nominee’s community involvement.

Think of your friends, family, colleagues, clients — anyone who matches the criteria — and nominate as many as you like. Nomination forms must be submitted by someone other than the nominee.

To be eligible, the nominees work must be based out of Jefferson, Orange, or Hardin County. Also, recipients must be 39 years old or younger. All applicants must have at least one reference in addition to the individual nominating the candidate. Application deadline is August 7, 2020.

Fishers of Men and SETX Food Bank Host Food Giveaway June 27

The Fishers of Men, in conjunction with the Southeast Texas Food Bank, is hosting a food distribution giveaway on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at Turning Point Church, 3600 N. Main St., in Vidor from 10 AM – 1 PM.

Please enter the event from the Spoonmore St. driveway. Participants must stay in their vehicles, and the food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
