CASA of Southeast Texas Seeks Volunteers

Did you know that child abuse and neglect rates are expected to spike when COVID-19 begins its downfall?

More eyes on kids means that more people will see the abuse and neglect that occurred while families were in quarantine.

YOU are needed, now more than ever, to serve as a CASA volunteer! These children, who were stuck for over a month in an abusive situation, will need you on their side speaking on their behalf. You can be their “ray of sunshine.”

Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers get to know the child and gather information from everyone involved in their daily life, including family members, foster parents, teachers, daycare providers, doctors, lawyers, social workers, and other relevant persons. CASA volunteers use the information gathered to report to the judge, advocating for the child’s needs while in the foster care system. As a volunteer, you commit to represent a child’s best interests while they are in care.
