CASA Plans Information Session for New Volunteers

in Local Roundup

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) is a non-profit organization that consists of trained volunteers who advocate for abused, neglected or abandoned children in our region. These children are generally placed in foster care by the courts and CASA is assigned to investigate the child’s case and report to the court what is in the best interest of the child(ren). Judges review this and other information to determine the best placement for the child(ren).

A CASA volunteer keeps abused and neglected children safe while they reach a safe, permanent home. CASA volunteers speak up for a child in court. The volunteer is not a foster parent but rather a voice making a difference at a critical point in a child’s life.

Join CASA of the Sabine Neches Region during a CASA Information Session for additional information at the Orange Public Library on Tuesday, March 3 beginning at 11 A.M.
