Families are invited to explore the wonders of nature this fall at Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center through the Fall Saturday Adventure Series—a fun, educational experience designed for children ages 4 to 12 and their adults. These free, hands-on programs take place on select Saturdays from September through November, with a new theme and book-based activity each week to spark curiosity and connection with the natural world.
Programs are held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and feature interactive outdoor adventures, storytime, creative crafts, and engaging discovery stations. With topics ranging from turtles to canine companions, there’s something to excite every young explorer!

🐢 September 20 – Turtle Talk
Book: Except Antarctica by Todd Sturgell
Dive into the world of turtles! This program offers a hands-on look at turtle habitats, shell structure, and more. Children will explore the great outdoors, enjoy themed crafts, and learn about the fascinating creatures that inhabit the environment.

🐺 September 27 – Wolf to Woof
Book: Dogs: A History of Our Best Friends by Lita Judge
Explore how wolves became our beloved pets in this energetic look at 50,000 years of canine evolution. Participants are encouraged to bring a photo of their dog(s) to share during this journey from wild to wag.
