Go Beyond the Road with TxDOT

What goes into (and under) Texas’ roads and highways?
🛣️ Join Rebekah Dobrasko, Cultural Resources Director for TxDOT Environmental Affairs, on September 30, 2025 from 2–3 p.m. for a fascinating look at how the Texas Department of Transportation integrates environmental and historical preservation into its planning and projects. 🌄

From archeological sites and the discovery of caves in Central Texas to the preservation of historic bridges like the Rainbow Bridge, Dobrasko will take us on a road trip through the hidden stories beneath our roadways. She will also highlight the creation of the “A Time Before Texas” website and traveling exhibit, developed in response to archeological findings in South Texas and how TxDOT preserves our important environmental resources and history while building our transportation systems. 🚗

This program will be held in-person in the Walter G. Riedel III Education Center at the Stark Museum of Art in Orange, Texas. Admission is Humanities.
