Salute to Southeast Texas Workforce Month Kicks Off

in Business/Government

In a significant move to recognize the contributions of the workforce in Southeast Texas, Orange County officials, including the County Judge and commissioners, officially proclaimed February 1, 2024, to March 7, 2024, as “Salute to Southeast Texas Workforce Month.” This initiative, spearheaded by the Orange County Economic Development Corporation, aims to highlight the collaborative efforts of educational partners, employers, and workforce training providers. Together, they play a crucial role in addressing the demand for skilled labor, essential for filling thousands of construction and permanent positions across the region.

The proclamation underscores Orange County’s commitment to economic growth and workforce development amid an unprecedented boom. The area is currently witnessing over $12.5 billion in ongoing and upcoming projects, with an additional $73 billion in investments across Southeast Texas. This economic surge not only reflects the region’s robust industrial expansion but also the critical importance of a skilled workforce in sustaining this growth.

As Orange County and the broader Southeast Texas region continue to flourish, the “Salute to Southeast Texas Workforce Month” serves as a timely reminder of the collective efforts required to support and expand the local economy. Through this acknowledgment, Orange County officials aim to foster a greater appreciation for the workforce’s vital role in driving economic development and prosperity in the area.

Special thanks to Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas, Lamar State College Orange, Texas FAME – Golden Triangle Chapter, and Golden Triangle Polymers Company for all their efforts in helping to create opportunities for our future workforce.
