Night to Shine Event Hosted by Turning Point Church

Turning Point Church of Vidor is sponsoring a Night to Shine Hosted By The Tim Tebow Foundation on Friday, February 7, 2020, from 6-9 PM. A Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs, ages 14 and older. Everyone is crowned a prom king or prom queen on this night. Every guest of Night to Shine enters on a red carpet complete with a warm welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi. Once inside, guests receive the royal treatment, including hair and makeup stations, limousine rides, corsages and boutonnieres, a karaoke room, a catered dinner, prom favors for each honored guest, and dancing! This event is free of charge for every guest.

Volunteers are still being sought for the event.

Re-Launch of Adopt-a-Street Program

Keep Orange Beautiful Holding Tire and Scrap Metal Collection

Keep Orange County Beautiful is working with City of Orange Council Person Terrie Salter and Director of Planning Kelvin Knauf to re-launch the Adopt-a-Street Program in Orange.  Leaders from each organization that signed up to help keep Orange streets clean is asked to bring their volunteer teams to meet at Saint Mary’s Catholic School on Saturday, January 25, 8-10 AM for the program re-launch. Pick up supplies will be provided by the City of Orange.  Additional volunteers are always welcome to join the teams.  If you want to start an Adopt-a-Street team, please contact the Planning and Community Development office in Orange.

Texas Back in Business Program Available to Help Businesses Damaged by Hurricane Harvey

Texas Back in Business is a Hurricane Harvey Relief Program for Texas small business. Texas Back in Business is a job and economic development program that is funded by Congress in 2018. This program is designed to help small businesses damaged by Hurricane Harvey to recover. The mission of Texas Back in Business is to help save, stabilize, and grow small businesses in Texas who were impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Small businesses may apply for grants from $50,000 to $250,000 through Texas Back in Business by March 2, 2020.
